Best Foot Forward 2014 Charity Presentation
In a reception held in the Mayor’s Parlour in the Wolverhampton Civic Centre on 16th October, cheques arising from the staging of Best Foot Forward 2014 at Aldersley Stadium in July, were presented to the event charities.
Cheques for £4,500 were presented by the Mayor, Councillor Mike Heap, to Sue Chance of Compton Hospice, to Jennie Watton of Base 25, a City charity helping young people and which receives grant aid from Children in Need, and to Rotary District Governor Lynne Marshall, on behalf of the Rotary Charitable Trust.
Other charities
In addition, £5,600 was raised by 9 charities, who used the event as a means of generating funds for their own needs.
Four hour team challenge
A plaque was presented to LAC Chris Jones of RAF Cosford. Chris completed 105 laps of the track as part of Team Typhoon, winners of the Four Hour Team Challenge against seven other teams of Cosford Trainees.
As well as the charities, the reception was attended representatives most of the Patrons who funded the event, and a number of runners who had individually logged over 100 laps.
2015
Rotary Club President Mike Boyce announced that Best Foot Forward 2015 would take place on Saturday 18th July , at Aldersley Stadium.
